After 7 months, Indigo (or Indy as we call him) has finally been adopted! He will remain in the Dogs at Camp family as Barry Caswell, the uncle of the owner of Dogs at Camp Ottawa, has adopted him and moved him to Thunder Bay. There he will have an older husky brother, Loki, and a 3 year old husky sister, Tia, so he will fit into the family perfectly. Barry lives on a rural property surrounded by forest so he plans to train Indy to run free with lots of hikes in the forest and by the river. Indy is on his way to having a really good life and we couldn’t be happier. We already miss him at camp but this is the perfect family for him. The Dogs at Camp Team Julia is our most recent Foster Camper, and she has settled in beautifully! She came to us from Siber Rescue, who brought her in – as her elderly owner became ill. Julia is a sweet, calm, and easy going 2 year old Husky / Shepherd mix. She is house-trained, and walks well on a leash. She is equally comfortable with people and with other dogs, and would make a wonderful new pet to anyone who is looking. Please help us to spread the word. Thank you! The Dogs at Camp Team Last weekend, Dogs at Camp Ottawa was doing some landscaping with the help of one of our campers…Kepler the Aussie, who decided to give driving the tractor a try. Predictably, the lack of opposable thumbs posed a steering wheel challenge, and he couldn’t reach the gas peddle. We appreciated the offer though!
Lincoln is the latest Dogs at Camp Foster camper to find a home. He was with us at Dogs at Camp Uxbridge for about five weeks. During that time he endeared himself to our staff, and we miss him already. But he has found a wonderful home with a loving and caring family, and we’ve had great reports back about what a pleasure he’s been to have, and how well he’s settling in to his new home. We all wish Lincoln and his new family all the best! The Dogs at Camp Team ![]() Our new Dogs at Camp Brochure! Our new Dogs at Camp brochure is complete, and we’re thrilled with it! The brochure includes a combination of beautiful country and dog photography, as well as illustration that was commissioned just for Dogs at Camp. The Dogs at Camp Team Trey came to Dogs at Camp Ottawa at the end of November from a situation of neglect at a dog sledding operation in Quebec. He was dirty, anxious and really unsure of what was going on. As the Owner of Dogs at Camp Ottawa, I spend a lot of time with the dogs in our care, and as I spent more time with Trey, I got to know him very well over the last few months. I began to realize that if he ever left my care I would really really miss him. I miss all the foster dogs once they get adopted, but Trey was different. He and I developed a special relationship of trust and love and I wanted to give him the home he deserves, so I made it official and adopted him! Having lived outside his entire life, it will take quite a while before he is comfortable and relaxed in a home. Camp life is perfect for him because he gets to spend his days with other dogs and with our staff, and I can slowly introduce him into my house at a pace that doesn’t cause him too much anxiety. For Trey, this is the best situation and I’m so happy that he is now part of my family. Cheryl Caswell Camp Director, Dogs at Camp Ottawa Inc. COO, Dogs at Camp Canada Ltd. Rick
http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/15845024?recno=21 Lincoln I am a 2.5 year old, neutered Irish wolfhound, Shepherd cross and just look at me! I am gorgeous! I hate to brag, but with a cute face like mine, and a charming personality to match, you really shouldn’t pass up the opportunity to meet me! I am a bigger guy, so I am looking for a home with lots of time to play outside and where I will get plenty of exercise. I may have a little too much energy for the little ones, so a home without young children would suit me best! I came to Dogs at Camp from the Ontario SPCA.
