Mickey is one of the Foster Campers at Dogs at Camp Uxbridge. When he first came to us, he was shy, lacked confidence, and had the look we see all too often on the face of a dog who has not been shown the affection every dog deserves. We have seen an incredible transformation in Mickey over the weeks during which he has been with us at camp. The first set of pictures above were taken when he first arrived, while the second set were taken just days ago. Can you see the difference? We believe that the pictures speak for themselves! If you or anyone you know is considering a new dog, please suggest Mickey. He is a gem! We can by contacted at: rescue@dogsatcamp.com The Dogs at Camp Team This weekend, Dogs at Camp will have booth space set up at the Pet Fun Fest event. The event is in support of Helping Homeless Pets, which is an umbrella organization which supports a large number of individual pet rescue efforts. We will be there to promote awareness of our Foster Camper program, as well as camp in general. The event takes place at Downsview Park in Toronto this coming Saturday and Sunday, February 13th and 14th. For more details, visit the Pet Fun Fest web site at: http://www.petfunfest.ca/map/whereispetfunfest.htm We also have a brand new booth set up which will WOW you. So come and see us, and support this event in order to help the many many pets in need of homes. Hope to see you there! The Dogs at Camp Team Tucker, a Dogs at Camp Foster Camper, was adopted by Stephanie – a staff member at Dogs at Camp Cookstown. Here is an update from Stephanie: On my first day of work at Dogs at Camp Cookstown there were many dogs at camp, but my eyes were instantly drawn to an adorable ginger lab mix named Tucker. I assumed, of course, that he was a camper (somebody’s dog!) but my co-worker told me that he was actually part of our Foster Camper rescue program, and was up for adopttion. I’m convinced that it was fate! After that shift I knew I was going to take Tucker home with me (somehow!) as soon as possible. After a couple of weeks of talking it over with my family, we decided to do ‘go for it’! The more I worked with Tucker, the more I fell in love with him and knew he would be a perfect addition to our family and to my life. Tucker has now been living with us for a month, and things couldn’t be better! He is extremely playful and affectionate and has connected so well with us. He can clearly sense that he’s in his new home, and he endears himself to all who meet him. He loves to tug and play fetch, and has even learned a new trick since being here! I certainly could not have asked for a more perfect dog, and I’m thrilled that I rescued him. So thanks to the Dogs at Camp team and to our Foster Camper program. Tucker thanks you too! Stephanie. After less than a week in our Foster Camper program at Dogs at Camp Uxbridge, Anuk, a beautiful black and white Husky, found a new home this past weekend. During the short time she was with us she managed to endear herself to our staff, who are missing her already. But we are thrilled to see her go into a wonderful home with a caring family, and we wish them all well!
Our newest Foster Campers, Anuk, Mickey, and Phoebe, have just arrived at Dogs at Camp Uxbridge. All three are a pleasure to have with us, and we hope to be able to find homes for them soon. If you or anyone you know is looking for a dog, please consider one of our Foster Campers. For more information or to arrange to meet one of them, please write to us at: rescue@dogsatcamp.com. Thank you! Anuk is a beautiful black and white Husky. She has a thick, healthy coat, and she stands proud. She loves to play with other dogs, and when she is not playing she is lying at the feet of anyone who will give her attention. Anuk had a home but was abandoned for reasons unknown. We can’t begin to imagine why, as she is a happy go lucky girl who listens well, and is very tolerant. She is a gorgeous dog who would make a great addition to any family. Mickey, or “Mickey Blue Eyes” as we call him, is a very sweet boy who is sociable and comfortable with other dogs, and is equally happy to spend time on his own. Phoebe has just joined us at camp, and is settling in very well She is a sweet, busy, and equally happy to be around people and dogs. She is a particularly affectionate and happy dog, and would make a wonderful addition to a family with or without other dogs. Dogs at Camp is excited to announce that three of our Foster Campers were adopted this week! We will miss all of them, but we are thrilled to see them go to wonderful homes with caring and dedicated owners. We hope to see them back as visitors and campers! Jackie and Riley were adopted from our Uxbridge location, and Tucker was adopted from our Cookstown location. Jackie (now Keilee):

Indigo is believed to be about 3 years old. He is a very sweet dog! He is great with other dogs but we have not seen him with small children or cats. He is playful, loves to run and loves petting. He is quite the character who always amuses us! He shows no signs of initial nervousness but he has never been in a city environment so not sure how he would react to the activity. He is an amazing dog with the brightest blue eyes!
Indigo comes to us from B.A.R.K. For information or to apply to adopt him, contact:

Tre Tre is believed to be 8 years old. He is a loving, good natured dog who is great with other dogs and people. We have not seen him around cats or small children so have no idea how he will react with them. He loves to be outside and likes lots of petting. Tre is slighly skittish due to the circumstances he came from. He shys away from new people and sudden movements, opening doors, etc. initially but once he knows is allowed to take some time to adjust, he quickly recovers from his nervousness. He needs a good home for his retirement. He is a very sweet older dog who craves attention and is great with other dogs. Tre comes to us from B.A.R.K. We wish him and his new family all the best and hope to see him back as a camper! Hayao came to us off the streets of Quebec in early November. He was very skinny and a bit shy but he quickly came around and gained some weight once we found a food he liked. We grew to love him over the last few weeks and are happy to say that this morning he found his forever home. Two wonderful ladies just adopted him and he’s on his way to live with them in the countryside of Peterborough. We already miss him but are happy he’s now got his very own family and home
